Mississauga, Ontario, Summers of 2014-2015
This is a small, private law firm made up of three lawyers and two legal consultants. They deal in business enterprise law, contract law, and criminal defence.
I was able to spend time with a lawyer from each respective department and observe client meetings, the creation of legal files for litigation, and administrative workings of a small private law firm. I was also able to accompany the lawyers on trips to holding cells for interviews with clients; bail hearings, remand hearings, and cross examination hearings on a number of occasions.
This was truly invaluable hands-on experience that really helped me further cultivate professionalism, solid communication, attention to detail, creativity, and a meticulous work ethic.
